At The London Tanners, craftsmanship always comes first, and today we’re proud to introduce our newest creation – The Victorian Strap.

Instead of mass production, we create each piece using traditional leatherworking techniques and carefully selected premium leather. Skilled, hand-cut, stitched, shaped, and polished every item in our workshop.  The result is leather that doesn’t just look beautiful — it feels exceptional and performs exactly as intended.

Inspired by traditional Victorian-era leatherwork, this handcrafted leather strap combines heritage craftsmanship, luxury materials, and precision design.

Victorian leather craftsmen valued durability, balance, and careful finishing. Their work combined practicality with refined craftsmanship.

We followed those same principles when designing the Victorian Strap.

Instead of relying on automated manufacturing, we craft each strap entirely by hand. This approach allows us to control every detail while ensuring the leather develops its natural character.

Because of this process, no two straps are completely identical — yet every one meets the same standard of balance, durability, and performance.

Handcrafted Using Premium Leather: Every Victorian Strap begins with carefully selected premium leather, offering superior durability, flexibility, and longevity.

Once the leather is selected, the crafting process begins.

• First, the leather is cut by hand.
• Next, the layers are carefully aligned and stitched together to create the strap’s two-layer construction.
• Then the strap is shaped, the edges are finished, and the leather gradually takes its final form.
• Finally, we polish each piece by hand until the surface develops a glass-smooth finish that highlights the natural beauty of the leather.
• At every stage we check the balance, the flex, and the feel.

Because a strap should not only look exceptional, it should perform exactly as intended.

Designed for Balance and Control: The Victorian Strap features a stitched two-layer construction designed to provide durability and responsiveness.

Meanwhile, the handle is built up and individually hand-stitched. This creates a firm, comfortable grip and allows precise control.
